Hi! I'm Teo, a 29 year old Brazilian photographer based in Brasília, Brazil. I focus on street photography and to a lesser extent social documentary. I've spent a few years taking courses on both the technical and artistic sides of photography and found I only really care about the latter.

I started photographing in 2015 during an year as an exchange student in the United States, when I bought my first camera. The first place I photographed was New York City and photography was just as new to me as the city. There I discovered a deep connection between the desire to explore new places and the excitement to keep some part of them with me. Back to Brazil, I took my camera with me and shot my family's home state of Piauí for about a couple of weeks in 2016. I had no idea how to properly handle the camera. Everything was shot in automatic mode with the Flash going off in the most awkward times for the sole reason I didn't know how to control it.

Even so, those were some of the most important images I ever took. Only a few years later, many of those dear people had moved elsewhere or passed away and this is the one body of work that shows their lives with family and friends. I discovered that even more important than photographing is doing so with intention. I had many, many photos in the archive but only a few ones really did reasonate with me. Those are the ones I keep with me to this day. Since then I dedicate myself to pursue what it is in photography that captures my full attention and interest. When I do so, I find a little bit more about myself, those around me and the places I visit one photograph at a time.
